 Recognition of Prior Learning

If you have previously studied a unit being offered as part of our course with another registered training organisation, or you have relevant work experience in a field being studied you may be eligible for "RPL".

This means you may not have to complete the unit for which you believe you should get RPL and still get your full qualification.

In order to apply for RPL in a given unit, you must provide proof that you have achieved competency in that unit. You can do that by;

  • Providing a current statement of results from a previous course where that unit was studied (and competency was gained). Note: where the unit(s) are the same as those covered by CCBIT but unit codes are different it is the students responsibility to provide written evidence that the unit(s) sought for RPL exactly match the CCBIT unit(s).
  • Providing other evidence that you can do the necessary tasks involved in the given unit. For example demonstration of the necessary skills by way of:
  • Visual demonstration
  • Answering questions
  • Written assessment
  • Demonstration of recent work experience in that competency
  • Submission of any other relevant forms of evidence of competency

Students must apply (where possible) for RPL of a unit at least 2 weeks prior to commencement of study of that unit to avoid having to catch up on studies should the RPL application be unsuccessful. Once your application has been received we will review the evidence you have provided and advise you of the outcome within two working weeks.

CCBIT recognises the AQTF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by other Registered Training Organisations.
